Drowned

There's this one thing that I really love,
With it in my hands, free, as it makes me
I describe to myself that which I yet may not understand
Still, it flows
Like a mighty slow river
Eating through lands vast and varied
All powerful, all conquering
Yet, seemingly lazy and unmoving

As am I, I would assume
Latent, passive, seething innards of confused turmoil
And I attempt to understand it not
But, instead, choose
To go with the flow

Isn't it pretty?
As you look inside and see,
Muddy worlds of blue and green,
Stirring, now, to reveal to you you the visions you see
Revelations! Them all!

Rise above, now
Look from above
Fly with the blind sky, and see me smile

Within, without
It's lovely, look about, won't you?

And they rush within from underneath or above
Greedy green, weak supporting brown

Seeming slumber, you perceive
And I smile mischievously
With wanton leer and sudden glee
As you bathe within
Shedding bright inhibition.

Come, let me awake and warm you
Bother not with memories
Of paths straight and blind
Waver with me, as you realize - my awakening

And she laughed madness with me
Her naked arms, gently caressing my rising self.
Touch me, once again, my love
Feel my senses envelope yours
And realize the magic that I am.

But fear she did, the rising waters
That excited and fascinated, could not abate
And rage and rage it did
For days and nights
With a madness intense and confused
That frightened even the Moon and the Sky

But the love that died,
Was never again found.

Thunder!
And the greying of the day, a premature twilight, happens
I await the lying rains.
They lie.

A single bird did dare,
To unruffle this untimely night,
With scared, unsure call.

I hear you, O friend.
But I fear too.
So I sleep.

And pretend.

The Stain Remains

Red, red stains on green, green grass
Remain, still
Unwashed by the sky, and loved by the Moon
Illuminating, once again, visions witnessed
Of you and I and that strange Motherless night of stars

Where we walked, then, on this soft, dewy green
'neath the deep blue night and the Moon unseen
Yet we could see,
Our naked bodies and the crystal waters beside

And we did bathe 'neath the celebrating night
With soft damp caresses, exploring and heightening needs of warmth
As we draw closer, to embrace, once again

Your fingers through mine,
You lead me out, into the warm night, upon grass green
Where we lay beside each other, as I kiss you gently upon your lips
Till the Heavens bless us with a sign
And I understand

We made love through the night and rain
Leaving behind us the warmth of the morning
And red, red stains on green, green grass

I bend now to caress these stains that remain
And am filled with misery and pain,
For you shall be beside me nevermore

For the Lord above did envy,
Even as the elements around did Him defy,
This state attained
Of Oneness, so above His own

And He struck his own child, you, my love
To leave me with only memories
Standing, sullen, gazing upon
Your red, red stains on green, green grass
